Sustainability, eco-friendly credential and community stories and news:
We have installed 290 solar panels at our headquarters to pave the way for a sustainable future.
For the technologically curious, it’s a photovoltaic system covering a huge 568 sq/m surface, but the most significant facts are that it will make our headquarters 35% self-sufficient and they’ll give a 2.4 year return on investment. The system is rated for up to 120.35 KW of peak power with an estimated annual yield of 893 KWh/KWp.
Estimated yearly electric costs: £9250 v £160,000 - a saving of £150K plus CO2 reductions!
Our renewable energy investment aligns perfectly with the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, which clearly defines the value the company is promising to deliver to society, its customers and future generations.
ETB is celebrating a momentous moment in the drive towards electric vehicle mobility, after starting the installation for our first-ever charging port in our head office Blackpole site.
The installation of the charger marks the start of an exciting new era and the official beginning of our commitment to expand our EV charging infrastructure.
The technology will be replicated at other stores over the coming months and years and is another nod to Bridgestone’s all-encompassing E8 Commitment.
The EV charger is our first tiny step towards including electric delivery vehicles in our fleet for short run local drop offs and in conjunction with our roof top solar project will help reduce delivery costs in the future.
EV chargers in our retail stores will not only be utilised by the team as an added value service for customers while their cars are being serviced, but it will also be available for the general public to use too. By doing so, they will be brought closer to our brand and left with a memorable retail experience that they will be more likely to come back to.
EV vans are being phased into our fleet, with a number now in operation, and charging points at our Worcester HQ helping to keep them mobile – whilst keeping emissions low.
Everyone knows the benefits of driving an electric vehicle these days, with zero emissions, lower maintenance costs and a cheaper charging costs just some of many reasons.
But what about the electric vehicle tyres that take you from A to B in a super-efficient EV? The right tyre choice is extremely important for maximising the performance of any EV, whether it be wet/dry grip handling, longer life and for achieving the desired vehicle EV battery range.
Bridgestone’s Turanza 6 tyre is an ideal solution, being perfectly suited to hybrid and electric vehicles, helping to optimise their performance.
The ‘EV Ready’ tyre boasts low rolling resistance to save battery life and address range anxiety concerns, excellent control to address EV-specific driving-related issues, higher wear tolerance to combat tyre wear due to the increased weight and higher torque.
