ETB Stratford’s team Lee Kilpatrick, Mike Blundell, Nathon Pool, Nigel Ridge and Will Calcroft are on hand for motorists, while their Masons Road depot is celebrating a 15th anniversary in the town.

ETB Autocentres’ Stratford depot is combining a 15th anniversary year in the town with 65 years’ worth of automotive experience to counter COVID-19’s considerable challenges and report an ‘incredible’ period of business.

The global pandemic has put paid to any celebrations at the Masons Road garage, but centre manager Nigel Ridge will continue to commemorate in the only way he knows how – with a trustworthy, reliable service for all motorists.

He said: “It’s my 40th year in the automotive industry too, so if times were different we’d be having one or two anniversary events.

“It’s better for everyone if we celebrate by working as hard as we can to give the local community a great service that they can rely upon. This is what we’ve been doing for as long as we can remember and business has been incredible.

“Most of our work is through repeat customers which is the most pleasing trend. We know it’s a really hard time for a lot of people, but we’ve been able to report a period of sustained success, which we’re proud of.”

Nigel puts a lot of the depot’s success down to his assistant manager Mike Blundell, who was born and bred in Stratford and has such a strong affinity for the community. He also said that with new car sales being down in 2020, more motorists are opting to maintain the cars that they have instead, resulting in more visits to garages like ETB for maintenance work.

“Everyone knows Mike and I don’t think there’s a customer who visits that he doesn’t know to talk to. We’re all passionate about the town and with the Coronavirus causing so much distress to so many people, we’ve had an additional sense of duty to keep people moving and to let them know we’ll be there for them throughout.”

Like every other garage across ETB’s network of 27 depots, ETB Stratford will remain open as normal for the duration of the second lockdown and Nigel will be happy to see any motorist, whatever car they’re driving.

He added: “We do get a diverse range of models and we’re more than happy to tend to any of them. We recently had two McLaren’s on the forecourt which were eye-catching, but we repair vintage cars too, and just about everything else in between.”

ETB Stratford employs five members of staff in total, each with different skills to create a lasting first impression.

Nigel added that free vehicle and tyre checks were being offered across the board to all motorists, including autumn checks on windscreen wipers, headlights and fluids.

“We’re doing very well right now but we must keep evolving and improving to meet our customers’ needs. We’re working in such unprecedented times, it’s vital that we keep working hard and remaining open for those who need us.”

ETB Stratford offers a full range of automotive services and stocks the latest premium Bridgestone and Firestone tyres. It specialises in all automotive solutions including exhausts, batteries, wheel alignment, balancing brakes and services.
